Thorough 11+ preparation for Years 3-5
We run small-group courses for students in Years 3–5 preparing for the Slough Consortium and Buckinghamshire 11+ grammar school entrance tests, written by GL Assessment.
Each course is delivered in blocks. Verbal Reasoning and English is alternated with Non-Verbal Reasoning and Maths until the final block, when we teach all four subjects. Students can then apply all the techniques they’ve been taught, under timed conditions.
Our highly experienced tutors know the GL Assessment papers inside-out. Through interactive teaching, weekly homework and progress tests and feedback each block, they highlight areas of strength and areas for improvement, close gaps and build test confidence.
To enable our students’ parents know how they are performing, on an ongoing basis, we ask them to mark their homework, using the answers provided.

Which subjects are covered in 11+ tuition?
We cover all four core areas of the GL Assessment 11+ tests: Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, English and Maths. Our tutors are specialists in GL Assessment papers and know exactly what students need to succeed.
When should my child start 11+ preparation?
We recommend starting in Year 4 or early Year 5 for optimal preparation. However, we welcome students at any stage and can provide catch-up support for those starting later.
How large are your 11+ classes?
We limit groups to a maximum of 10 students to ensure personalised support while benefiting from peer learning. This small group size allows our tutors to identify and address each child's specific needs.
Can my child join mid-course?
Yes, absolutely. Following a short assessment, we'll recommend the best start date and provide catch-up resources where needed. We're experienced at integrating new students into existing groups.
What exam boards do you prepare for?
